Learning Something New Everyday

So after getting spoiled the whole evening on my birthday, life goes on as normal. Although I wish it's a birthday everyday so I get these bouquet of red roses all the time, without me buying them myself at times :).
Learning something new everyday continues and still no photos attached to my album. But I did a bit of a break to the apple stamp and thought I'd add some different stamping I am learning on a new class. Unfortunately, the registration has been closed since the start of the class taught by ms. Jennifer McGuire.

Since I was able to finish the 15th day, I thought I'd celebrate the 15 days of learning something new here.
and here's a sneak into what I am learning from the Stamp Class. Just love this class!!!!

Starting Points at Shimelle's

Not sure about your side of the world but today was such a weird, maybe one of my not so good days. Could it have something to do with the gloomy weather? Where did the sun go? Just one
of those days that I found myself trying so hard to count the good things out of the bad ones. So here I ended up doing some changes on my blog at last and another post of five good things to share with you today. If you haven't seen my flickr post lately, I got inspired by another Shimelle challenge on the weekend called "Starting Points". And it's just a nice feeling when you see your work featured by someone as respectable!
Thank you Ms. Laine. If you want to play along, this fun challenge is on until Saturday.

Thanks to all the birthday wishes. It was a very quiet day on my honey's birthday. We decided to stay
home and just relax after a long weekend party with friends and family on Labor day. We did some
skyping with family back home for a change and it was really touching to see my mom on the screen,
while we showed her around the house with my honey on tow, holding the laptop.

September is usually our month of celebration together so I also try to catch up on scrapping some wedding photos when I can. I'm using up my boxes of SC pps and Mr. Huey mists. I was also seriously considering on making some major changes on the look of my blog, any suggestions? It's also in September when I came up with this blog 2 years ago. One major thing that bugs me is loading a photo as part of the blog title. I haven't really figured out how to cut the height in half so it doesn't take much space.
LSNED update: day eleven, Sunday off. List of things I wanted to get done which I did. So far, I haven't got any single photo on my album yet but lessons are learned everyday....

Have you noticed? Fall leaves are starting to cover the ground. As much as I want the sunny days to stay, I guess there's no stopping those leaves to dry. Even the garden is showing it's last bloom but my honey still insisted on planting some winter veggies to replace our dried peas. The weather is getting cooler, in fact, I am wearing a sweater right now when two nights ago, I couldn't even sit where I am now for an hour because of the heat! Oh well, fall it is. I can't wait for pumpkin patch again and holloween costumes. Till then....
Have a great day!

Ten Things in September

Better late than never...
For ten things, thought I'd catch up on my LSNED
so here are the Ten Things I've Learned
the first 10 days of September....

No photos included on my album yet.
A word each day as part of the big lesson is highlighted.
All pps are SC's Elementary kit including stamps.
My date stamp is from Smash.
Until tomorrow.....

Good Morning, Long Weekend!

Good morning, sunshine!
First off, thank you for all the lovely greetings and thoughtful calls
on our special ordinary day. There's no better way of giving the love back
than to share with you some of the lovely photos
I've been taking lately here since my last photo load in July.
Did I say July? Holy! Where did August go?
And I heard that it's the last day of summer...
already? No way! Here on the island, we have been getting
Great because you won't even feel a sweat,
and the sun has been shining on us all day everyday!
A lot of my favorite flowers are on their 2nd cycle
like this beautiful lavender.
Who said summer was too late for our sunflowers to bloom?
This is our first year to plant them from seeds...
As soon as the first one opened,
the whole front garden started loading
with smiling big and small yellow flowers.
They greet me with a smile after a busy day at work;
even the honeybees started flocking from nowhere!
I just love this!
Oh, remember the grapes at the backyard?
How about these huge yellow tomatoes?
As they say in Argentina, "espectacular!"
Juicy, tasty and oh so sweet....
Our little garden had been very cooperative too...
My honey was so inspired that he made this burger
with fresh veggies from the garden as the best burger ever!
Seriously, not a good photo but it was just perfect.
Remember what the deer did to our first scralet runners?
Thanks to uncle Bob on that "scoot" advice.
We actually had these for dinner last night.
And boy were they fresh and tasty!
And because it's a long weekend,
we have a full house: thanks to Teri and Don,
for celebrating this last few days with us,
mom and Johnny, for such a lovely evening last night.
I can't let go of this summer days but I know,
September will be another great month.
I premade my album already but haven't really
decided on the cover. And because it's a busy weekend
for our little family, I will have to get back to you on that.
Lesson 1: it's ok to embellish a bit (that applies to all aspect in my life);
Lesson 2: sometimes, no matter how busy life can get,
you just have to accomodate and make time for the unexpected.
Hmmmm.... until tomorrow and see what we can learn from today's....
